Manchester City have received encouragement in their pursuit of Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.
The Citizens want to sign a top striker in the summer, and may turn to Lautaro if they fail to land main target Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
According to Tuttosport, Inter are already looking at Borussia Mönchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram as a Martinez replacement.
If City put in a suitable offer for Lautaro, then Inter would use part of the funds from the sale to secure Thuram for his buyout clause of £37.7 million.
Losing Martinez would mean another Inter striker going to the Premier League, after Romelu Lukaku signed for Chelsea in the summer.
