Newcastle have a five-man shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.

Eddie Howe splashed the cash in January in a bid to keep the Magpies in the Premier League after a shoddy start to the season from Steve Bruce. Nearly £100million was spent in the first transfer window since the Saudi arrival.

Armed with the funds from their Public Investment Fund owners, the likes of Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Dan Burn and Bruno Guimaraes were signed. And it has appeared to have worked with Newcastle now looking likely to beat the drop.

The Daily Mail says five stars have been identified as the perfect signings to kickstart the revolution at St. James' Park. A goalkeeper, a centre-back, a central midfielder, a winger and a striker are on being eyed.

And there is a strong list of candidates, too, with the likes of Josvo Gvardiol, Louis Kelly, Yves Bissouma, Kalvin Phillips, Brennan Johnson, Moussa Diaby, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Darwin Nunez, Patrik Schick and Alexander Isak being scouted.
