Macbeth Met Three Witches Died Tragically, Leissner Saw One Feng Shui Master But Lived To Sing Like A Canary.

What if I told you in 2016 that whatever troubles you had with the law would be resolved five years later?

You would probably walk away feeling sceptical just like Macbeth did after he met three witches in the opening scene of a play by William Shakespeare only to allow the prophecies to continue to haunt him, prodded along by his own power-hungry wife.

In the play, after a battle in Scotland, Macbeth and his companion, Banquo met three witches, who made three prophecies; “Macbeth would be a thane; Macbeth would be king and Banquo’s sons would be kings”. And you knew the ending for Macbeth who believed in fulfilling the prophecies himself by destroying those who stood in his path urged by his over-ambitious wife.

Now, look back to 2016 when the FBI started their investigation on Leissner and he was told by a feng shui master that all his troubles would be resolved by themselves in 2021. Little did he know then that he would be singing like a canary in a court of law in 2022, as a prosecution witness for the FBI, with his troubles almost behind him.

Here we are in 2022 more than five years after the event and Leissner confessed in a New York court he did seek advice from a Feng Shui master in 2016 on how to handle a U.S. investigation into the 1MDB funds.

We were told that when subpoenaed by the FBI in February 2016, Roger Ng, Leissner’s former partner in the bank and his wife, suggested the latter consult a feng shui master.

All Leissner wanted to know was whether he was a target of the investigation into 1MDB, as a subject or merely a witness.

At the meeting in a Hong Kong hotel room, the Feng Shui master told him, “You would have issues with the authorities for 5 years but eventually, the problems would resolve by themselves.”

In addition, Leisnerr also revealed that the Feng Shui master commented on his love life, where he had two secret marriages. “I was also told that the women in my life would be a problem to me”.

We are often sceptical about fortune tellers. But in the case of Leissner, everything that the feng shui master foresaw in 2016 came out true including his love life.

So, in 2021 five years later, Leissner became the prosecution witness who agreed to tell everything in order to convict his fellow partner, Roger Ng.

In 2022 he spilt the beans in a court in New York about Roger Ng, his secret marriages and his many girlfriends that brought him endless problems.

Was the feng shui master right?

Well, so far Leissner’s troubles seemed to be resolving by themselves.

Besides, he had confessed to the crime, refunded some of the money and paid the fine. He only had to bargain for a lesser sentence in jail. Hopefully, by being a cooperative witness to the federal authorities, he might get off with a lighter sentence.
It seems that the problems were indeed already resolved by themselves with some help from the FBI who were after others like Roger Ng that would likely implicate Goldman Sachs itself.

Meanwhile, Leissner’s wives and one girlfriend while still a little troublesome to him are about to be resolved too. Kimora had divorced him and we were not informed about the fate of his other wife Judy. But Rohana with whom he had a long relationship is still lurking in the background mostly because of his own doing, telling the world about their personal secrets in a courtroom. She too had stepped forward to settle her part of the problem with the authorities.

But unlike Macbeth, Leissner did not go out of his way to fulfil the prophecies on his own. If he had followed Macbeth’s foolish path of trying to put an end to all who were problematic to him, they too would have met the same fate as those in the tragic play.

Fortune tellers like witches in Macbeth could see far into the future. But please do not put your faith in them. They could lead you astray too. But that is a subject for another column.
