Kota Kinabalu: Sabah school bus operators have been asked to negotiate with parents a win-win solution on the issue of monthly fees which some parents refuse to pay when services are not provided or schools are closed.

Making the suggestion, Sabah Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) Chairman Datuk Chin Kim Hiung said he is aware of the problems faced by both the operators and parents during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I take note of the difficulties faced by school bus operators in Sabah where they have lost their source of income due to school closures as well as strict SOPs due to the pandemic,” he said in a statement, Wednesday.

“In this regard, I suggest that school bus operators and parents hold discussions and take a win-win decision to resolve this issue as at the same time I also take note of the difficulties faced by many parents who lose their source of income due to the pandemic.”
