VfB Stuttgart remain determined to sign permanently on-loan Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.
The Gunners are set to receive a £2.5million fee for the centre-back regardless of whether or not Pellegrino Matarazzo's side remain in the Bundesliga, says Kicker.
That is contrary to previous reports which suggested relegation would have an impact on the price. Mavropanos was loaned out to the Swabian's for the second successive season prior to the beginning of this term and an option-to-buy clause was inserted into the deal.
A seven-time Greece international, the 24-year-old - whose contract expires in June 2023 - was signed by Arsenal from PAS Giannina for £1.8m in January 2016 and tipped to become a star at the Emirates.
But four years and three managers later, Mavropanos' time in north London looks to be up after just eight first-term appearances, the most notable of which was his debut against Manchester United in April 2018, earning plaudits despite the Gunners losing 2-1 at Old Trafford.
