The voyage was pleasant and we the youngest newly married couple were an attraction. The chief officer of the ship who was also recently married could not take his wife in the same ship. She was coming by another ship to join him at Singapore, thus he told us.
Having been impressed on seeing our photos in our passports he became friendly and used to chit chat with us off and on whenever he found time.
