The recently concluded UMNO General Assembly was mind-boggling, to say the least.

Amidst calls for GE15 to be expedited after their recent victory in Johor someone said it was necessary to hit harder at the opposition and to strike when the iron was hot.

Apparently, such a strategy for those who read The Art of War would give UMNO and partners an added advantage. But was UMNO ready?

Puteri said they wanted to keep on sprinting to greater heights after successes in Melaka and Johor. For those reluctant to proceed with GE15 immediately, they were labelled as having smaller balls than what the Puteri wing said they could muster.

Besides the sizes of the unmentionable raised by Puteri, there were other issues. I prepared the following checklist of what I heard over two days of deliberations at The World Trade Centre.

  1. Women could have bigger balls. That remains to be seen. You do occasionally see bearded ladies at Ripley’s weird shows but I have yet to see a well endowed lady as claimed by Puteri.
  2. An incumbent PM was allowed to serve at the pleasure of the President.
  3. Party election must be postponed until six months after the next GE to avoid splitting up the party. The party must be very fragile then. Other political parties have completed their own elections. One leader in the opposition retired after 6 decades as a politician. That might inspire some in UMNO to make way for the younger ones too.
  4. GE15 should be hastened to take advantage of the groundswell support for UMNO in recent state elections.
  5. Criminal charges were trumped up against senior leadership by previous government because they refused to wind up UMNO.
  6. Fiery speeches were hollow according to a senior party member.
  7. A VP could outshine President and Deputy during the debates; commented observers.
  8. A PM could be warned to ensure there was no objection when UMNO submitted a notice to postpone party elections.
  9. Must hurt weak enemies more according to some party heads.
  10. To strike when iron was hot was a familiar refrain from many eager to get on with GE15.
  11. A school of politics was needed to train new generation of UMNO members. Yes, some UMNO members do need further schooling. A course on etiquette may help the youth wings to make sure they grow up to be adult members who are polite and courteous.
  12. Being nominated to be a candidate for PM was one’s rezeki.
  13. Poison pen letters were reportedly dumped in one corner of the PWTC but not distributed. What a strange attempt to discredit someone without completing the task.
  14. There was a court cluster versus a cabinet cluster which I have never heard of until recently.
  15. Zahid was not jealous of his VP now serving as PM.
  16. A VP allowed to be PM after GE15 was an anomalous practice within UMNO for 65 years. But it was his rezeki.
  17. The Deputy may be PM after GE16 which if it happened was indeed his rezeki.
  18. Zahid no longer aspires to be PM for the moment because it was not in his rezeki.
  19. Neither was Najib planning a come back in the near future because fortune(rezeki) does not seem to smile on him too, for now.
  20. If UMNO had decided on candidates for 10th and 11th PM it would be at least 8 to 10 years more if indeed Najib and Zahid might be making a come back. They might be too old by then. However, nothing is ever permanent in politics.

I think I have covered everything. Did I miss anything?
