Liverpool have made an offer for Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak.
The Sweden international has been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal in recent days.
However, Mundo Deportivo says Liverpool tabled a €70m offer through intermediaries for Isak earlier this season.
The bid was discussed between representatives of both clubs, though never formally reached La Real.
Indeed, club insiders believe it may have been a test or a maneuver on Liverpool's side to speed up another deal. It's suggested Liverpool swooped for former Porto attacker Luis Diaz just days after letting it be known a bid for Isak was to be tabled.
