
Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission today arrested 19 contractors for allegedly submitting false bank statements amounting to RM49 million to the Sabah Education Department, according to a statement from the agency.
The suspects, aged between 24 and 53, were arrested at 10am at the MACC office, here.
The allegedly false bank statements were submitted to support tenders at several schools throughout Sabah.
MACC Sabah Director Datuk S. Karunanithy said all the suspects, including nine women, will be charged at the Kota Kinabalu Special Corruption Court soon.
