Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola insists the Crystal Palace pitch was to blame for last night's 0-0 draw.

City stumbled to a draw at Selhurst Park to leave them just four points clear of title rivals Liverpool but having played a game extra.

"I think they [Palace] played good," Guardiola told Sky Sports.

"There are still many games to play, we have to win a lot of games but the way we played, there's no regrets about the team.

"We would have preferred to win of course but the game was well played. We played to win the game, we created more, the stats were there.

"The way we played was amazing in a difficult stadium with the grass not perfect, we were there all the time, we had a good game."
