Kota Kinabalu: The body of a boy was found floating in the sea near Kg Tanjung Aru, along the Coastal Highway, here, Thursday.
Two adolescents passing the area stumbled upon the body of the boy, believed to be 10 years old.
City Police Chief ACP Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said the boy was confirmed dead by paramedics.
He said preliminary investigation showed the teenage boys retrieved the boy’s body before they alerted the police.
“The absence of a BCG (Bacillus Calmette- Guerin) vaccination injection mark on the boy’s body showed the victim was likely a foreigner.
“The body has been sent for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death,” he said, adding the case has been classified as sudden death.
