THE State Government is looking to produce its own pesticides and fertilisers in order to reduce the burden of rising costs on farmers, said Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.
“However, we still need to conduct research where it is needed, so we do not have to rely too much on exports (of pesticides and fertilisers) as we do now,” he said during the question and answer session at the State Assembly sitting, Monday.
