Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick explained why Cristiano Ronaldo missed the Manchester derby on Sunday.
The Red Devils took on their local rivals Manchester City, losing 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.
A result that maintains City's title ambitions and hurts United's chances of a top four finish was overshadowed by the absence of Ronaldo from the squad.
Asked about his selection choices pre-game, Rangnick said to MUTV: "[Raphael] Varane and [Luke] Shaw tested positive for Covid in midweek, Edi [Edinson Cavani] trained well in the last three days but in the end he didn't feel quite well enough to be able to play.
"Cristiano had problems with his hip flexor on Friday and hasn't trained since."
