Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is eager to see Sean Longstaff handed a new deal.
Sky Sports says Howe has made a personal request for Longstaff's contract to be extended.
The midfielder has played 18 matches this season, 12 of which as a starter.
Howe is a fan of the academy graduate and is eager to see Longstaff continue with the Magpies next season.
For his part, Longstaff also sees his future at St James' Park.
