Kota Kinabalu: The Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) has 242 factories as of February this year, creating 7,963 job opportunities and generated investments worth RM1.680 billion.

State Industrial Development Minister Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam said the factories are involved in various industrial chains, with 17 entities in timber-based sectors, 39 in the food sector and 65 in the warehousing sector. He said other activities are in the iron-based, rubber, plastics, logistics, electronics and electrical as well as automotive sectors, among others.
