Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara believes they must remain humble and hungry in the coming weeks.

The Reds are within touching distance of Manchester City in the title race, as they are only one point behind the league leaders with equal games played.

After an impressive 2-0 win over Arsenal away from home, thanks to goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino, Thiago stated what the team must do to go all the way.

He said to Sky Sports: "We felt our high pressure was not quite as accurate as it usually is. We started to play our game more and was better in the second half.

"I gave two assists and [Andy Robertson] just won Man of the Match! No, I'm joking. We just wanted to keep the ball. [On his mistake...] I didn't realise Alexandre Lacazette was there and fortunately we have an amazing keeper who pulled off a good save.

"We were wishing Manchester City dropped points and they did. The gap now is one point but we are just looking forward to the Nottingham Forest game and nothing else.

"We just try to win each game we have. We have to analyse this game to go through the things we did wrong and right then looking forward. That is the key - to stay humble and hungry."
