Manchester United are interested in Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.

The Telegraph says a host of elite clubs are circling in an attempt to snap up the in-demand Nunez this summer, it is understood, including several of United's Premier League rivals.

Nunez is set to move on in the next window, and his 26 goals from 33 appearances this term have sparked a bidding war which includes struggling United.

Benfica are eager to clear up the future of the forward as soon as possible, and they are expected to bank a sizeable figure for him.

Complicating the chase for United, fellow top four contenders Arsenal are also said to be keeping tabs on Nunez. Mikel Arteta's side sit four points ahead of United.

The same outlet adds that Arsenal are in the market for at least one centre-forward, although their interest in the youngster is less advanced than United's.

Benfica are believed to be holding out for at least £60million for the striker - and the fee would represent a sizeable profit from the £20m they paid for him in 2020.
