Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola praised Scott Carson after last night's Champions League draw with Sporting CP.
The 0-0 stalemate sees City reach the quarterfinals 5-0 on aggregate.
Carson's appearance was his first in the Champions League since April 2006 when he played for Liverpool against Juventus – the longest gap in the competition's history.
“We are delighted," said Guardiola. “He is very important to us behind the scenes.
“His chemistry with Ederson and Zack Steffen is fundamental in the locker room.
“People listen when he speaks. He made the biggest save (of the game)."
