Anthony Gordon insists he's hurting as much as any Evertonian over the state of their season.
However, the winger is convinced they'll soon start moving up the table.
"I go home devastated for days after a defeat," he confesses. "Family members try to cheer me up saying 'you played well' but they do not understand I'm part of the team and losing.
"It gives me confidence that the manager has got a lot of trust in me because he sees me training every day and how I go about my business."
Everton have games in hand over the other threatened teams — Norwich, Watford, Burnley and Leeds — but with games against Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal still to come, they have to make this week's two home games count.
"If teams around us are losing it helps us a lot but in the end it's down to us," adds Gordon to the Daily Mail.
"I was happiest after our games against Leeds and Brentford. Both were really good performances at home and the crowd was right behind us. If we can do that against other teams, very few can live with us."
