Manchester United Treble winner Teddy Sheringham insists Cristiano Ronaldo remains at the top of his game.

Ronaldo silenced his doubters on Saturday by scoring a stunning hat-trick to down Tottenham 3-2 on a pulsating Old Trafford evening.

Speaking on behalf of 8Xbet, Sheringham, 56, told The Sun: “I think when you look at all the three goals, it shows you he's still about, he's still a force to be reckoned with.

“His first goal, we've seen him score many a goal like that. His second goal he's getting it in the six yard box for a tap-in and the third goal, he's scored many a goal like that too - in the air, getting up, heading it exactly where it wants to go. Phenomenal."

Quizzed whether he'd like to see CR7 stay at United for another year, Sheringham added: “I think it all depends on what happens at the end of the season. I think it's very up and down at the moment.

“They had an interim manager, got rid of him. They've got another interim manager. What's going to happen for the next season? Who comes in in the summer?

“What type of manager is it? How long is he coming in for? And the questions are going to be there for all, for everyone. It's not just Ronaldo.

“It's a situation with, where is this massive club going next? And at the moment no one knows."
