Tuaran: A 62-year-old man who was reported missing on Feb. 26 (Saturday) was found dead in a vehicle in Tamparuli, near here, on Sunday.
Tuaran District Police Chief Deputy Supt. Mohd Hamizi Halim said John Maria Ambrose (pic), who lived in Kg Tambalugu, Tamparuli, was found in the vehicle at 7.20am in Kg Lakang, about 2km from his house.
He said police investigations at the site where the body was found revealed no traces of struggle or criminal elements.
“According to the wife, the deceased, who suffered from dementia, often left the house and got into public vehicles that were not locked.
“The disappearance of the victim since Feb. 26 prompted family members to ask villagers for help before lodging a police report the next day.
“The case has so far been classified as sudden death (SDR) pending a full autopsy report,” said Hamizi, who urged to the public who have relevant information to come forward and assist in further investigations.
