Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl says the players dined together after their thrashing by Chelsea.
Saints bounced back from the 6-0 defeat to win against Arsenal.
"I have every day a meeting with the players, this is my job, every day I do an analysis," he said.
“We had a little bit of a different week, they had a dinner with the team after the Chelsea game and then we had a different way of analysing the situation, as I said not only shouting and jumping on them.
“This doesn't make sense, finding answers and how to change things is the way of helping us and this is how the manager should work and the team should work.
“Finding options of defending to be successful and maybe ways to not always be so pretty and so wonderful, but they are successful and somehow this is needed.
“There was plans anyway, this is the reason why they had the Sunday off so it fitted them and fitted me as I had one more day to think about the Chelsea game to find the right answers for them."
