GEORGE TOWN – Penang civil servants will get a special half-month salary bonus, or a minimum of RM1,200 in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration next month.
The bonus will also be given to employees in the Seberang Prai and Penang Island city councils as well as the state statutory organisations.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said in a statement that the special bonus payout amounts to RM7.35 million and serves as part of the state’s recognition of the civil service’s contributions in helping Penang mitigate Covid-19.
The state will also allocate RM300 each to supervisors and teachers of the al-Quran and Fardu Ain classes, primary school teachers and support staff of public religious schools, and staffers of private Chinese vernacular schools here.
RM200 each will also be channelled to preschool Islamic teachers. – The Vibes, April 14, 2022
