STATE Rural Development Minister Datuk Jahid Jahim said Banggi has enormous potential in numerous areas and needs creative ideas, and people to tap them.
“I believe the administrators here will think about how this can be translated to be able to have an impact on the people of Banggi,” he said during his working visit there April 18.
Jahid, who is also Tamparuli Assemblyman, called on all staff of the Banggi Sub-District Office to continue their good work to ensure all plans can be achieved.
During the visit, Jahid and his officers were briefed on Banggi’s development by Banggi Assistant District Officer Asdi @ Mohd Faizal Hussin.
Other matters raised during the briefing were on the latest projects being implemented, major problems in Banggi, problem solving, proposed development applications with economic, social and health impact, and expectations of the Banggi Sub-District Office.
Asdi regarded Jahid’s visit as an injector of enthusiasm for all staff as the implementer of government policy in Banggi.
At the same programme, a briefing was also held on the Pulau Banggi Agropolitan Project by Felcra Berhad Sabah Region, presented by its Area Manager, Abdul Malik Jusoh.
Among contents of the programme were visits to the Banggi Island Agropolitan Project area, a visit to Balambangan Island, as well as coastal areas which have Silica-type sand, said to have many benefits for humans.
