BELURAN: Residents here are reminded not to own, sell, buy, or play with firecrackers and fireworks during the Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
Only “pop-pop” and “Happy Boom” firecrackers are permitted, according to Beluran District Police Chief Supt Kasim Muda, because they do not contain explosives that could harm public safety.
However, he said the selling of such firecrackers still required a permit from the District Police Headquarters and that they must be sold in accordance with the established standards.
