
Kota Kinabalu: A man's body was discovered floating by Sabah Parks rangers in waters off Pulau Gaya, here, Tuesday.
The body, whose identity was unknown, was found during the rangers' routine patrol at about 10am.
City Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaidi Abdullah, when contacted, said as soon as they were informed of the discovery of the body, a team of personnel and officers were deployed to the scene.
He said the body was then fished out of the water and sent to the forensic department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for an autopsy.
Mohd Zaidi urged anyone who has lost family members to come forward before the autopsy is carried out.
