Bukit Aman transfers female cop who made viral Tiktok video

KUALA LUMPUR – A police officer from the Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (CID) who broadcasted a live TikTok video during a raid on an entertainment centre will be transferred to the Johor police contingent headquarters.

Police Deputy Inspector-General Datuk Razarudin Husain when contacted this morning confirmed the matter.

On Monday, Narcotics CID director Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said an initial investigation found that the TikTok post was a personal message meant only to promote the officer’s own TikTok account.

A one minute and 38-second video went viral on social media showing the officer with the rank of ASP in a police operations jacket explaining the scope of her work, including regarding conducting raids and inspections.

Previously, police had issued a directive prohibiting its officers and personnel from posting on social media while in uniform. – Bernama, April 27, 2022
