Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Tennis Association (STA) is banking on Nurshaneem Shamsuddin (pic) to win medals for the State contingent in this year’s Kuala Lumpur Sukma Games.
STA President Johnson Koh said this after a meeting with the Sabah Sukma Committee chaired by Sabah Sports Council Director Asneh Mohd Noor on Monday.
The United States-based Nurshaneem, who had won a gold medal in the mixed doubles event with Christian Chin at the Sarawak Sukma Games back in 2016, is expected to lead the team.
“We have spoken to her parents and at the moment we are trying to work out a plan with MSN to ensure that she will be able to lead our challenge and deliver some medals,” said Johnson .
Meanwhile, Asneh said apart from Nurshaneem, the name list for the rest of the players has yet to be finalised.
