Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe suggests losing 5-1 to Tottenham could be a positive for his side.
Howe was speaking post-game, after his side had taken the lead but were subsequently thrashed by Antonio Conte's top four challengers.
The scoreline was 1-1 at half time, but Spurs took their play to another level in the second half, blowing away Newcastle on the break.
Howe said post-game: "In the future we might look back at this as a good thing for us.
"It might just realign our thoughts and bring us back down to the basics that have got us success. Sometimes that jolt can be a good thing for you.
"I still think we're in a huge fight to stay in the division. I think we knew this period was going to be very difficult.
"That's six away games in seven, which is a very difficult run, and some tough grounds. We now return to St James' Park, and they are going to be massive games for us."
