Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri was pleased with victory over Sassuolo.
Manuel Lazzari and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic struck for Lazio in the win.
Sarri said, “I had hoped to see this attitude. We reacted well, it wasn't easy because the derby really was weighing on us heavily, certainly weighing on me, so there was no guarantee we'd play like this.
“Fortunately, we played at a very high level against a Sassuolo side that this season has won away to Juventus, Inter and Milan. We allowed them very little, one chance in the first half, two in the second. We could comfortably have won 4-1 or 5-1 today."
On Milinkovic-Savic, Sarri added: “In my view he can become one of the best in the world. I still see margin for improvement, especially his consistency."
