Kota Kinabalu: Sabah is looking forward to a positive development concerning high domestic airfares after a recent meeting between the Ministry of Transport and airline operators.
State Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Jafry Ariffin expressed hope the meeting will result in lower ticket prices for travellers looking to enter the state.
“Or if not, at least more options for people to travel back to their hometowns, or for leisure domestic travel at lower costs,” he told reporters, here.
He said it is unreasonable for airline companies to keep airfares high, noting the state’s tourism industry is still trying to recover from the effects of the pandemic.
