Villarreal defender Raul Albiol says success against Bayern Munich was all about team unity.
Albiol was named man of the match as a 1-1 draw in Munich saw Villarreal reach the Champions League semifinals 2-1 on aggregate.
Albiol said, "It's unbelievable, it's taken a lot of hard work. Our victories are as a team. We have suffered a lot in both games, but to be in the semi-finals is great for Villarreal. We knew it was going to be a long 90 minutes and we were going to suffer a lot.
On marking Robert Lewandowski, he continued: "Normally, strikers at this level are among the best in Europe and you have to measure yourself at this level.
"He demanded that I was at my best and very focused for 90 minutes."
