PM Announces Free Tolls, Toll Discounts On Selected Highways Ahead Of Hari Raya

In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that the government will be providing toll waivers and discounts to motorists on 30 highways. This is offered in collaboration with participating highway concessionaires, applicable on 30 April and 1 May, as well as 7 and 8 May 2022.  

Specifically, three offers will be provided for motorists on selected highways, namely toll waiver, 50% discount, and 30% discount on toll fares. Motorists for all vehicle classes can benefit from these offers.

Under this initiative, motorists travelling along the North-South Expressway and East Coast Expressway will be exempted from paying toll fares during the specified dates. In particular, this offer will apply to these highways: 

  • North-South Expressway (PLUS)
  • North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE)
  • Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SPDH) 
  • Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE)
  • Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (LINKEDUA)
  • Penang Bridge (JPP)
  • East Coast Expressway (LPT) 1
  • East Coast Expressway (LPT) 2
  • Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway (KLK)

The 50% discount on toll fares, meanwhile, will be applicable to motorists travelling on these highways: 

  • Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS)
  • Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP)
  • Cheras-Kajang Highway (GRANDSAGA)
  • Sungai Besi Highway (BESRAYA)
  • New Coastal Expressway (NPE)
  • Ampang-KL Elevated Highway (AKLEH)
  • KL-Putrajaya Expressway (MEX)
  • Duta-Ulu Kelang Highway (DUKE)

As for the 30% discount on toll fares, it will apply to the highways listed below: 

  • Flood Water and Tunnel Management Project (SMART)
  • Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GUTHRIE)
  • KL-Kuala Selangor Highway (LATAR)
  • Butterworth Outer Ring Road (LLB)
  • Kemuning-Shah Alam Highway (LKSA)
  • Kajang Ring Road (SILK)
  • Sultan Abdul Halim Muad’zam Shah Bridge (JPP2)
  • South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE)
  • KL-West Traffic Dispersal Scheme Highway (SPRINT)
  • Kajang-Seremban Highway (LEKAS)
  • New North Klang Straits Bypass (GRAND SEPADU)
  • Senai-Desaru Expressway (SDE)
  • West Coast Expressway (WCE)

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri further said that the toll waivers and discounts are expected to come up to a total of RM77.11 million, adding that the cost will be jointly borne by the government and highway concessionaires.

Finally, the prime minister hoped that this provision of toll waivers and discounts will help to alleviate some of the financial burden of highway users, especially those from the low-income group. He also hoped that it will enliven the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations for Malaysians.
