Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl says adding many millions onto the transfer budget is enough motivation for the rest of the season.
The Saints are not going to qualify for Europe, while they are not in danger of relegation either.
Many teams can drift away in the final weeks of a season when there is nothing at stake.
However, Hasenhuttl points to the higher prize money for finishing in a better Premier League position as enough reason to do well.
"Yeah, absolutely," Hasenhuttl told reporters when asked by the Daily Echo if prize money is an influence on the rest of the season.
"Especially at this time of the season it is very interesting, the table is never interesting but now it is getting so.
"We know that we play against the teams around you and you know, like in the last game against Brighton, when you win it it's a big step forward, a draw keeps the race open and if you lose you are gone."
