Brazil removes Covid-19 test requirement for fully vaxxed air travellers

SAO PAULO – Brazil yesterday stopped requiring a negative Covid-19 test for fully vaccinated travellers arriving by plane, Xinhua reported, quoting state news agency Agencia Brasil.

Only unvaccinated travellers will be required to present a negative test, while fully vaccinated Brazilian and foreign travellers can enter without one, according to the report.

The decision to exempt vaccinated travellers from the testing requirement is due to the decline in Covid-19 deaths, cases, and hospitalisations.

Brazilian residents entering the country by land will not require proof of vaccination, said the report.

Since February 11, Brazil has reported a decline in all virus indicators following the Covid-19 wave caused by the Omicron variant. – Bernama, April 3, 2022
