Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded 85 cases on Thursday, a marginal increase from 83 the day earlier, while one death was recorded in Beluran, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
“Even though there is a slight increase, 12 districts recorded a decrease compared to eight districts which recorded an increase in new infections,” he said in a statement, Thursday, adding that no new clusters were identified.
Of the caseload, 57.65 per cent were sporadic infections while 21.18 per cent were close contacts.
He said Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 27 cases, followed by Tuaran (14), Sandakan (7), Kota Marudu (5), Lahad Datu (4), Tambunan (4) and Tawau (4).
“A total of 15 districts recorded single-digit figures, of which 13 recorded one to four cases. Ten districts did not record any new cases,” he added.
Masidi said the majority of infections were mild, with 81 out of 85 being category one and two infections.
“There was one patient each in category three and five, while two were in category four,” he added.
On Sabah’s immunisation programme, 4,361 took their vaccines on Apr 20, of which 894 were adults, 236 were teenagers and 3,231 were children.
