Burnley have piled the pressure on Everton after a convincing 2-0 win over Southampton on Thursday.

The Clarets are now just one point behind 17th-placed Everton, although Frank Lampard's side have a game in hand.

With interim boss Mike Jackson in the dugout following the sacking of Sean Dyche, Burnley were in control from start to finish.

Conor Roberts sent the Turf Moor crowd wild when he curled in the opener after just 12 minutes.

Nathan Collins headed in to double their lead before half-time.

The Lancashire outfit next host Wolves at Turf Moor on Sunday, while Everton face Liverpool in the Merseyside derby at Anfield.
