Incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag plans to give Donny van de Beek a fresh chance next season.

The Dutch midfielder forged his reputation under Ten Hag at Ajax before his disastrous £39million move to United two years ago. But there could now be light at the end of the tunnel for Van de Beek following his fellow countryman's appointment as Ralf Rangnick's successor.

The Sun says Ten Hag will bring the 25-year-old 'in from the cold' next year. The duo developed what is described as a 'close relationship' during their time together at Ajax.

Van de Beek moved to Everton on-loan in January.

Ten Hag believes that Van de Beek suits the style of football he hopes to implement when he does take charge in the summer.
