
Kota Kinabalu: The Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) Youth Council supports the State Government’s move to build 1,500 Rumah Mesra SMJ in 73 constituencies in the State.
Its representative Steve Johnny Mositun commended the move as it was a good start for Sabah and assures that funds would be put to good use for the benefit of the rakyat and the State.
“As the young generation, we need to support any good move by the government.
“As an association that preserves the culture of Kadazandusun, we are to work hand to hand in ensuring the unique diversity is continued for many generations,” he said in a statement, recently.
On Wednesday, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor announced that the RM125.6 million federal special grant for Sabah will be utilised for the purpose of building the homes.
He said it was in line with the State Government’s Haja Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) initiative to ensure the wellbeing of the people and that they will have access to affordable housing.
Hajiji said excess funds from the allocation will be used to repair roads, suspension bridges and other infrastructures as well as properties damaged by floods.
