The abuse case involving the Down Syndrome child, Bella has been the talk of the town recently while people criticise Rina Harun not only for her late response but also for exposing the traumatised Bella to the media.
While the people question Rina’s relevance in this matter, just this morning (20 April), The Ministry of Women, Family & Community Development (KPWKM) has taken to their Facebook account and clarified the recent “photo session” between Rina & Bella.
It’s an old picture
KPWKM explained that the pictures featuring Rina Harun herself and Bella are indeed old pictures that were taken back in 2021 and not recently.
“These pictures should not be circulating online as they are not true. We hope serious warning will be given to the media and take down the articles immediately before the public share them.”

Old or recent, it still happened
Despite the Ministry’s explanation, not everyone is happy with what they had to hear. Most of the netizens say that regardless of the timeline of the images, the fact remains that Bella was brought out to the media before she was ready.
“Wait. I’m lost. The pictures are not “false” because they were indeed taken in 2021. Regardless, Malaysians’ perception towards Rina Harun is the fact that she “forced” Bella to see the media. That’s the perceptions that should be handled by KPWKM. What you should’ve done is contact the media and asked them to correct the fact.”
“Oh, old pictures. But it happened, right?”
“By changing the date of the pictures, did it change the fact that Rina brought the media to Bella? Is this your approach to communicate with a traumatised victim? Where’s your brain?”
