Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel says that they cannot read too much into their last experience against Real Madrid.
The Blues took on Real in the Champions League last season, defeating Los Blancos on their way to winning the competition.
The two sides meet again, as they are preparing for the first leg of their quarter-final on Wednesday.
Tuchel, however, believes this is a completely different game to what transpired last season.
"Last season has nothing to do with this game," said the German in his press conference.
"We didn't look at it in our preparations. We looked at their last matches but not last year. There's not a point to prove or whatever.
"We are out to bounce back from Saturday and to play in the right way, the way we want to. To be physical, intense and focussed.
"It feels terribly hard all the time (to win the Champions League) but that's what we love, the competition. There's no other way other than step by step. It's challenging and demanding at the moment for us. But it's what we love. We can deal with it."
