Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken about the appointment of Erik ten Hag as manager for next season and beyond.
The Dutchman will take over from interim boss Ralf Rangnick when this season concludes.
The current Ajax coach is highly rated, and is likely to win another Eredivisie with the Dutch giants before he departs for United.
Sir Alex was asked about ten Hag at a recent horse racing event.
He told RTE Racing: "Well, I hope he ( Ten Hag ) does well because the club needs someone to get in control.
"I hope he does well, yeah."
United fans will be hoping that ten Hag can usher in a new era at a club that has struggled to cope with the departure of their legendary coach a decade ago. vcxc
