Many people nowadays are riding e-scooters on the road in the heart of KL and in Cyberjaya. Since a lot of these e-scooters are equipped with flashy lights, people do ride them at night as well.

However, the Sepang Traffic Police Division (BSPT) has spoken out on Facebook on this issue of e-scooter riders using main roads.

“Warnings were given to those who were riding e-scooters on the main roads in Cyberjaya.”

They also urged e-scooter riders to not “abandon their safety” and not use the main roads in Cyberjaya when they are riding the e-scooters as it can endanger other vehicles and cause accidents.

“BSPT Sepang will take stricter actions towards e-scooter owners and also riders who do not abide by traffic rules.”

During part of their survey, they have also issued 16 POL 170A summons to vehicles that did not follow the traffic signs.

“Good! Bicycles and e-scooters are not encouraged to be ridden on the road, especially at midnight. Don’t they know that it’s dangerous? If they get banged, it will trouble other people.”

“Maybe try a new approach, a new solution. Electric vehicles like this are already in abundance in Malaysia. Try to make a road or a special lane for them. Better to solve the problem than to blame others.”
