Autistic boy found safe on Sepanggar hill after going missing from home overnight

Kota Kinabalu: An autistic boy was found safe and sound on a hill today after going missing overnight at Kg Melawa, Sepanggar, near here, according to the fire department.

Five-year-old Jayden Gabriel Peter was reported missing since 3pm yesterday and was last seen shirtless.

Three Fire and Rescue search teams including a canine unit were deployed within a 2km radius of the boy's home along with the police, a local drone club and villagers.

Members of the public found the boy at about 1.30pm on Bukit Janggut before paramedics conducted an examination on him.

The child was later sent to the Women and Children's Hospital in Likas for further examination.
