Ajax legend Rafael van der Vaart was sent a warning to Manchester United's players ahead of Erik ten Hag's potential arrival at the club.
United and ten Hag have reportedly reached an agreement for the Dutchman to become the club's next manager.
Speaking on Z Select, van der Vaart said the move is 'nice' for both parties, but warned ten Hag will be ruthless with the United squad.
"Ten Hag to Manchester United? It's nice," said the former Netherlands and Tottenham star.
"You don't let a club like Manchester United wait."
He added: "These players can't have any excuses anymore.
"They made so many managers leave while they are playing so bad.
"Now they get a manager who will be very clear and will present his plan. Those who won't cooperate will get thrown out."
