Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is being cut loose by A-League club Perth Glory.
Sturridge signed for a season with an option for another year. However, he has made only five appearances so far.
Perth Glory chief exec Tony Pignata admitted: "It has been a disappointment. We had high hopes when we recruited Daniel. It has not worked.
"From a marketing point of view ... the first match we had 18,000 spectators because he arrived and it was hype.
"Then he was unfortunately injured ... and he has not been seen since. He is training and there is potential that he can play a few minutes this week and then end the season. Next year? I doubt we will offer him another contract."
