Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says the fullbacks could be key in Sunday's clash with Liverpool.
Over the past few seasons, Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker have been integral to City's style of play, while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson have been key players in Liverpool's resurgence.
Asked if he and Jurgen Klopp had helped change the perception of what has often been an unheralded role in the team, Pep agreed the calibre of players playing full-backs had indeed made it a more glamorous role in recent years.
“Yeah you're right, today the position of full backs is more important in how teams must play," said the City boss.
“When teams play narrow and deep, the spaces are there and when they have quality.
“I agree, the four full backs on Sunday, they are exceptional, you are right."
