Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt admits he was perhaps too polite towards legends Gigi Buffon and Cristiano Ronaldo when first arriving.
Buffon has since left for Parma, while Ronaldo is now with Manchester United.
Former Ajax captain De Ligt recalled: "In the beginning it was difficult because I am a very respectful person.
"Maybe I was even too respectful with them, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Buffon. You have to understand that we are all part of the same team.
"Then they become colleagues or even good friends."
