Aliff Syukri, the controversial entrepreneur, has once again made a headline for himself. This time, in his attempt to stay relevant, he released an Eid song titled “Kelepok Raya” and the song went viral immediately but of course, not for a good reason. The music video contains scenes that can be deemed as an insult to Islam as it shows gentlemen dancing around Aliff Syukri with makeup on and in questionable attire.

The male dancers in the videos wear tons of necklaces, and red hand gloves and some even wear a singlet. There is also a scene where Aliff Syukri lay down alongside all the male dancers in provocative ways. How can this type of video be associated with the holy celebration of Eid?

The controversial music video has finally been referred to Jakim for further action. Senator Datuk Idris Ahmad, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), stated the music video, which featured a group of gentle male dancers, was contrary to oriental manners and Islamic beliefs. The music video, according to Idris, is unfit to be associated with Muslims’ victory in the month of Syawal after undergoing tests during Ramadan.

The minister are disappointed and urges for the music video to be taken down from all platform as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Idris counselled individuals who wield power and are blessed with fame and sustenance from Allah to take advantage of them and use it in the right way. According to the minister, the entrepreneur should utilize the gift to encourage Muslims to fear Allah more and avoid actions that alienate them from devotion and God’s pleasure, particularly during Ramadan.

He urged all Malaysians to exercise caution and vigilance while dealing with issues that may cause religious sensitivities. “May my advice be for Allah, and may Allah alone define all the laws of goodness to His followers,” he concluded, expressing his humility and affection for all Muslims.
