William Saliba says being forced to play in Arsenal's reserves last season was good for him.

Saliba is currently starring on-loan at Olympique Marseille, where he has won his first caps with France.

On being dumped to the Arsenal U23s, Saliba told RMC, "It was a good experience.

"It's a shock but sometimes that's how football is, sometimes it's good to eat a good humble pie.

"You jump back in better shape. It's negative but it feels good now."
